SSI recently completed a SOC 2 Type 1 report which is a significant milestone toward our SOC 2 compliance. But what does this ultimately mean for our customers?
Let us start by defining SOC. SOC stands for System and Organization Controls. It is essentially an examination to ensure that a service provider manages data to protect the interests of its customer’s organization and their clients. The Type 1 report is on management’s description of their organization’s system and the suitability of the design of controls. SOC 2 defines the criteria for managing customer data based on 5 trust service principles. Those are security, availability, processing integrity, confidentiality, and privacy.
This independent examination was completed on September 30, 2020 by CliftonLarsonAllen LLP. The reason for voluntarily having this examination is to reassure our customers that we are handling their data and information with extra care. Our priority is to ensure that as your partner, you can trust our policies and procedures to protect your sensitive information.
This pursuit is a differentiator in the ag retailer space. Protecting your security, confidentiality, and availability is our top priority here at SSI. We thank you for your partnership and look forward to what 2021 holds for all of us!
